Jazz musician who wrote the award-winning piece "The Tic Code," based on his lifelong struggle with Tourette Syndrome. He served as chairman of the Tourette Syndrome Association.

Before Fame

He studied the piano at age eight and the drums at age 12. One of his earliest professional gigs was with Cal Tjader.


He won numerous awards for "The Tic Code," which was heralded at the Berlin International Film Festival, the Giffoni Film Festival, and the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Family Life

He was married to actress Polly Draper, with whom he fathered future actor Nat Wolff and future drummer Alex Wolff. Their sons participated in "The Naked Brothers Band," Polly's film and Nickelodeon series.

Associated With

He was Arsenio Hall's bandleader for Hall's 1989 to 1994 Fox talk show.
