"Sobre el Fuego," La India's 1997 collaboration with fellow Puerto Rican salsa musician Kevin Ceballo earned her a Grammy nomination in the "Latin Tropical Performance" category.

Family Life

She spent her earliest days in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and the bulk of her childhood in New York City's South Bronx borough, where she was raised by her parents and her grandmother.

Associated With

Grammy winner Eddie Palmieri produced her first salsa album, Llego la India via Eddie Palmieri. The recording earned her a 1993 Lo Nuestro Award nomination.
